With five decades of experience and a 99.9% success rate, Roy Watters has built a career spanning physics at Carnegie Mellon University, chemistry and nuclear physics at the University of Pittsburgh, and machine-shop instruction at the Community College of Allegheny County. A 24-year member of the Safe & Vault Technicians Association, he has served as an instructor and contributed technical articles to the association’s journal. His skill in safe lock manipulation has earned multiple top-three finishes in the International Safe Lock Manipulation World Championship. For the past 36 years, he has also dedicated himself to mentoring his son, Adam Watters, ensuring the craft is carried into the next generation.
