Let me open my long comment with: War Sucks is a fair statement, one that I happen to agree with. However, a lot of times blame for war is pawned off on the soldiers, most citizen soldiers, who have to leave behind a family (several times) for 12-18 months. Death of a soldier is truly devastating, and in the same respect living with out your soldier for such a long time really changes the soldier and the soldier’s family. It has a long lasting effect on the psyche of soldier, spouse and children.
On the flip side of an American’s effect of war, I have knowledge and pictures that tell a story of the hard life of Iraqi people and the positive impact the soldiers are making in Iraq. Being a soldier is hard, loving one is even harder, but the positive that comes from their presence will effect EVERYONE one day. Soldiers are strong as individuals and as teams; the good ones, revered in every way, most times they decide that changing one small part of the world for the better is enough even to sacrifice life with their families and loved ones. I support our troops, but not the war!
Such a powerful image, those 2 pictures tell a very sad story.
