Toyota Dominates Vehicle Quality Rankings

J.D. Power and Associates released their latest initial quality ratings today and, of course, Toyota has dominated the list again. As the owner of two Toyota vehicles now, I can attest to how good their vehicles really are. As a point of comparison, I had my old Dodge Dakota truck into the dealership 3 times in the first year of ownership for work outside of regular maintenance. In the first year that I’ve had my Tacoma, I had the exhaust pipe replaced while I already had the truck there for maintenance. The pipe was giving off a slight odor that was noticeable, but not terrible — so they replaced it during the oil change.

I always catch grief from people — particularly my fellow firefighters — for buying a foreign product. I always remind them of surveys like this and then let them know that I will consider American car companies once they start winning the majority of them.
