Splashing In The New Year
Once again, Loran and I decided to start our year by throwing all caution to the wind and jumped into the Monogahela River as members of the Pittsburgh Polar Bear Club. There aren’t any real members, per se, since all kinds of people show up from year to year, but there are some regulars that do it every year. The water is damn cold, but you’re only in for about 1 minute so it’s really not that bad!
Some people have told me that they want to do it but that they haven’t because they didn’t have anyone to jump in with. If you’re reading this, and you’re one of those people, make sure to let me know so that you can join Loran and I next year to ring in 2008!
UPDATE: This year’s jump has been ruled invalid because of the balmy temperatures. Ha ha ha!
