R.I.P. Polaroid Instant Film

I know we all love our digital cameras and our cell phones with those nifty cameras in them too — but that doesn’t make this news any less sad. I honestly can’t remember the last time I used a Polaroid camera, but they were awesome back in the 70’s and 80’s. I have a bunch of pictures with Santa Claus that were all done with Polaroids (in fact, we were still using them when I was a mall Santa right after I graduated from college!). What the hell is Outkast going to sing about now?

How are the youngsters going to, when they come of age, take compromising photos with their girlfriends or spouses??? A digital camera just won’t be the same or make the same sound. ;-) …ah the mammaries..ahem, I mean memories…yes, that’s it…memories.

Adding to that, did you know all the cool effects you can do with some of the old (the ones you had to peel apart) Polaroid film? You can make some pretty freaky designs before the emulsion on the print dries!
