It Has Only Just Begun
I’m a Duquesne University graduate and damn proud of it. Unfortunately, my beloved alma mater is basically landlocked in the middle of downtown Pittsburgh. It is bordered by the Monongahela River behind it, downtown office buildings to its left and front and a hospital, some businesses and a lot of residences to the right.
During my conversations with fellow alumni, I’ve always said that Duquesne will start to purchase land to the right of the campus along Forbes Avenue and will keep moving further down the street until they get to Oakland. Most people don’t agree with me, but I was proven right yesterday when “Duquesne U. gets city’s OK to expand north of Forbes”. Trust me, this is only the beginning and those Holy Ghost fathers will not stop until they get to the property owned by Pitt.
