Hurricanes Bring Out Bad Spelling

Could someone please tell me why hurricanes bring out such bad spelling in people? I found the pictures on the right on the FOXNews web site in the past few days. It’s utterly amazing that someone at FOXNews would actually publish the pictures knowing how stupid they look. Maybe that is the reason they did!

Isabel Your driving us nuts? Live wirer stop?

Those folks had better learn how to spell or they will continue to give the South a bad name!

I’d have to disagree on the spelling of the first picture. Isabel, is actually spelled right if your a Mexican. They pronounce it Esa-belle.

The word he’s referring to is “your”. It’s not used properly and should be “you’re” :) It’s probably the most common mistake in the English language, and a huge pet peeve of mine.

Maybe there was a wire technician who happens to be alive and working on the electrical lines.

That’s my cousin from Europe. He still spells “Lampe” with the traditional “w” in place of the “e”. For your (not “you’re” edification.
