Finally Some Justice!
For years, I’ve been so sick of judges that have given people convicted of DUI such light sentences. I swear to God that you gotta have like 10 DUI’s before they do anything major to you. My disgust with drunk drivers began back in the 80’s when 5 of my cousins were hit returning home after a softball game. One was in a coma, one had glass in her head, one had his eyeball collapse, one had her jaw wired shut and one was in shock. Needless to say, I think that drunk drivers are pieces of crap that deserve as much punishment as possible.
I had actually given up on our justice system , but then I read this article about a drunk driver that ran over 2 kids and kept on going. She was handed a 30 year to life sentence for killing these children that were just walking down the sidewalk.
This sorry excuse for a human being had the nerve to say how sorry she was and that she was a good person, but this conviction came after 4 other DUI convictions. Even if she is let out in 30 years, she’ll be 76 and probably won’t be able to do much of anything. Wouldn’t it be ironic if she were walking down the street with her walker and she was hit by a drunk driver who came up on the sidewalk?
I hope she thinks about how “good” of a person she is while she spends the rest of her life in prison. The only way she should leave is in a funeral home hearse.
