Do It Yourself Checkout
I read this article today about the use of do it yourself checkout. I really like the ability to check out my own stuff and bag it as I see fit. I use it all the time at Giant Eagle and recently used it at Wal-Mart and Home Depot. I know that some people don’t want to do it themselves, but I think it’s a bonus when a store offers it.
I’m all about efficiency and as it says in the article, these self checkout aisles have freed their employees up to tend to people as they shop to help them answer questions and find things which I think is much more helpful than actually checking out when you’re shopping.
