Do I Look That Uncool or Old?

I took Christian to The Exchange — a store that sells new/used CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes — over the weekend. I wanted to see if they had any used Thomas The Tank Engine, The Wiggles or Teletubbies VHS tapes since my little supermonkey just loves those shows.

Well, after we determined that the only tape that was available and was worth getting was “The Best of the Little Rascals”, Daddy decided to check out some of the used CDs for himself. I actually haven’t bought any CDs in a very long time (since the arrival of my iPod), but I wanted to browse anyways and see if anything REALLY caught my eye.

I was taking a look in the Local Rock section and asked one of the women that worked there if Anti-Flag, a punk band from Pittsburgh that has toured nationally, would be in the local section or the main rock section. She proceeded to tell me (and then show me) that I could find any Anti-Flag CDs in the rock section. She then looked at me — almost with a “you’re too nerdy to like these guys” face — and said “That’s SO cool that you like them!”.

Um….I know I’ve hit my Rolling Rock year of age, but I didn’t think that I was too old or too uncool to get a response like that from her. And by the way, Anti-Flag’s latest CD — The Terror State — is fantastic. They love President Bush about as much as I do — which is not at all!

Well you make look old or nerdy but, you don’t feel like it. Get this Joe, I ran into one of my high school classmates over the weekend and he’s gotten heavier and has a receding hairline at 24 (or 25). Me I look like I haven’t aged one day since graduating six years ago! Oh well! We should all look as young as we feel, right(which is about 20 for me)?
