Another Successful Burn Camp
I spent the day today at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital Burn Camp at Camp Kon-o-Kwee. I go with my brother and sister Pittsburgh FOOLS to this camp each year to help run the camp for the day. Last year, we helped the kids fish, go swimming, provided radio -controlled cars and had a cookout for them.
This year, we helped with fishing and swimming again and also created tie-dyed shirts. Instead of a cookout, we had a little carnival for them that included a cotton candy machine, shaved ice, popcorn, a caricature artist, temporary tattoo artist and a magician. We also had fire truck rides — thanks to our brother and sister firefighters from Beaver County.
Overall, it was a great day and the kids (and us) had a blast. We’ve got a a ton of pictures from the event as well.
