Another Reason Why Gambling Is Bad For PA
The thought of bringing legalized gambling into Pennsylvania — courtesy of Governor Ed “Can I Have Another Cheese Steak?” Rendell — should be enough to trouble anyone. Unfortunately, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board isn’t doing very well in the PR department considering that five of their employees have been arrested in the past year — including one of them being being charged with criminal homicide.
The latest buffoon to get in trouble was a 26 year old agent who didn’t want to pay the cover charge at a bar on the South Side and then proceeded to show off his badge and tell police officers that they “didn’t know who they were dealing with”. Luckily, he was arrested and suspended from his job.
I haven’t particularly liked the fact of casinos in PA since I first heard the idea floated. Having numerous employees of the group that is supposed to oversee the casinos continually getting in trouble with the law makes this bad situation that much worse.
